What’s the best way to get crusty Minwax off a kitchen cabinet?

We bought a house and the kitchen cabinets (along with all other wood surfaces in the house) are covered with a weird white-yellow crust that scratches off. I’m pretty sure it’s MInwax (found a small can of it in the garage that was nearly empty). Like I said, you can scratch it off but I’m hoping there’s an easier way. I’ve scrubbed my arm off and I’ve barely made a dent. Any ideas?
