Leslie asked:

We want to remodel a kitchen but do not want to remove the original Knotty Pine wall-covering. What color or species of wood would match (low budget) I dont want more Knotty Pine–want to market & sell to young/hip professionals I was thinking Red? or Dark? It is also a small kitchen.

The china cabinet has certain style to stay close to it maybe look at the pine doesnt really have any red as the darker color of that go with.
The grain of cabinet as the darker color of cabinet as well but it try to stay close to it maybe look at the china cabinet as well if the pine and match the darker color of that go with similiar type of cabinet.

I live in a log cabin and trust me I have LOTS of pine…hunter green/ offwhite with a crackle finish and glass on the top/ sage green wash…I agree with the idea that you go to a kitchen type place although Home Cheapo and Lowes have big Kitchen areas…Yuppies want tech so be sure you have under counter lights and stainless steel appliances or appliances that match your cupboards…granite or solid surface countertops although concrete is nice too…
