      depends on the application.
Where is it going? Knowing this would help my answer.

Are you talking inside or outside?
trim or main part of house
roof or walls floor or patio
rec room, kitchen, den, downstairs, upstairs, chimney or fireplace…so many questions, so little answers

The environment as pointed out by several other posts here you should use to get very good answer.
The cost to the cost to get very good answer.
The true cost of many choices doesnt always reflect the cost to your use what ever is.

Not real clear on what and where the mineral application would be–I think you need to add to your question.
