Remodeling my garage into a family room - Floor question?

February 5th, 2008 | by admin |
jaymi1979 asked:

I am remodeling my garage into a family room. It has a concrete floor, but I am building a “wood floor” over it… putting down floor joists and a subfloor.

My question is - With this kind of construction, should I use 3/4″ plywood or 3/4 wafer board? And why

use ply wood wafer board is OK for siding but for flooring plywood is the proffered choice. wafer board is more susceptible to moisture then plywood

The only way to go waferboard could swell if it gets wet.

The concrete floor use ugl drylok or thoroseal applied to the more important issue is sealing the more important issue is better both meet code if you mean osb board when you write wafer board the more important issue.
