How do I repair scuffed laminate on kitchen countertop? Damaged by abrasive sponge. Not deep, but unsightly?

Ed J asked:

Scuffed area is about 10 inces by 5 inchers. It is superficial and has removed the luster of that area. There aren’t any deep scratches. Is there some sort of top coat that I should use?
