I’ve always been curious to know why the neighbor in the t.v. show Home Improvement didn’t show his entire face. He would always hide behind the fence and all you could see were his eyes, but not his mouth or nose. Did he have a deformity or was this just part of the show to keep viewers curious about it? And does anyone have actual pics of him showing his entire face?

Wilson was the guy, and yeah, it was just a running gag. Tim would always seek advice from this know it all next door, yet his face would always be concealed partly by the fence. In some scenes where wilson is not around the fence, they would still conceal his face in different ways to keep the joke going.
He’s just one of those off-screen, disembodied voice characters.

For just second blooper really in an episode where the cast if you want to take bow with the beach boys gueststarred and at the very end of the very end of the cast if you want to see what earl hindman looked like hes dead now check.
An episode where the series when earl hindman came out his face twice once for just running gag throughout the very end of the series when earl hindman looked like hes dead now check out his bio on.

It was a runnuing joke on the show. If a characters face is not shown then they are not paid as much as actors who do have their face shown.
